Whether you are a beginner looking to work out at the right level for your fitness ability or have reached a higher level of fitness, monitoring your heart rate is key to knowing just how hard you are working. High intensity interval training (HIIT) is very dependent on heart rate to move through the intervals and achieve optimum results.
Heart rate monitors are available in a variety of styles, the most common are worn on the wrist or on a chest strap. I’ve used both wrist and chest strap styles for clients and myself and keep coming back to the Polar H7 Bluetooth. It has proven to be accurate and reliable over a period of continuous use. Accuracy of heart rate helps to guide and move through different intensity level with more confidence. I especially like it for less mobile clients because the sensor can be worn to the front or back, allowing for postural deficiencies.
